High Point Market was a blast this Spring & many trends were made very apparent through many showrooms. I am sooo excited to share with you a little snippet of what I experienced while I was there and some of my favorite showrooms!

I must say that I am loving these trends of spring 2019, many trends can also be found in my previous blog here

Although there were many amazing trends I'm going to share some of my favorites that I saw at the market.

Wicker/ Rattan/ Bamboo

My absolute favorite trend that was around every corner was wicker, rattan and bamboo utilized in furniture, light fixtures and other decor items. The texture of these items were so rich and gave the room a very natural look. The color of the materials really warm up the space and make it inviting. Many showrooms that had these materials in them had a subtle and beautiful boho vibe to them, which is one style that is personally one of my favorites. Using such natural materials, each piece can look as though it was handmade and more personal.

Textures

The textures in every show room were unbelievable!! Each textured piece made the design come alive and added so much interest. The woven/weaving technique was a popular texture in the spring market. It was a great way to blend an old technique into new design that freshen up a room. Many of the textures found in the spring market replicate what you may find in nature while using natural materials.

Colors

This Spring Market was filled with many neutrals, pastels & BLUES! From neutral pieces with a more contemporary feel to pastel velvet pieces for a more glam look. There was a good balance between really natural colors and soft pastels but nothing to bright and crazy this season. Blues were a market favorite from wallpapers to couches to accent pieces, it was one of the prominent colors.

Gold metal incorporated in accent pieces, side tables and much more was very popular as well. The gold ranged from a very shiny metal to a satin finish giving the color such flexibility to be utilized in different styled homes.

Light wood tones were everything this market!! This possibly can be stemming from wanting to bring more of the relaxing outdoors, inside. Soft tones of the lighter wood or bleached/white washed wood lightens a space and just gives it that calming feeling.

Nesting Tables

Nesting tables are absolutely coming back and they are bigger and better than ever! I have never seen so many different ways nesting tables could be designed until now. From elegant to laid back this functional and beautiful piece is a great addition to any home.

Burl Wood

Alright...so here's the thing, at first I hated burl wood but after seeing how this material can be utilized in all different ways and the texture/interest it gives a space I have changed my mind and have begun to accept it. This material is so unique and is an eye catcher. At the market I saw it utilized in furniture and wall tiles. It not like any wood you have seen before and is a great way to bring the outdoors, in.

Clear Acrylic Decor

Acrylic seems to be HOT right now and is sooo flexible in how it can be used. A current trend that I have seen and have fallen in love with is the clear acrylic tube handles/pulls paired with a metal cap. It gives a kitchen or door a sleek and elegant look. Clear Acrylic can be used in furniture but I saw less of that and more of clear acrylic in decor such as pulls and lighting fixtures.

Worlds Away

Sputnik Light Fixture

Wow... did I see so many versions of the sputnik & starburst chandelier at the Spring Market buttt, I can say that not one of them were a like & it was absolutely fabulous! The creativity to design a sputnik fixture that no one has seen or created yet takes a lot. Every Sputnik fixture is such a fun way to add personality into a room and have it stand as a piece of art.

Leaf Motifs

Oh, do I love this one! Leaf motifs small and large were hidden upon various pieces, lamps, chairs, carpets, and so much more. Again, brining the outdoors in to make the home an oasis seems to be the repeating goal of most of these design trends in this spring market.
