Pt 1.
As an Interior Designer for newly built homes here are 5 things I would include into my new build if I were to build my house today:

1.) Black Exterior windows with White Interior
I love the look of black windows from the exterior, it really can elevate the style of your home. But I would specifically get white interior. Having black interior is going to show a lot of dust and you will constantly cleaning them!
2.) Plenty of closet space and a large pantry (if not walk-in pantry)
Closets are HUGE for me. I want to make sure everything has a place to go. Closet for foyers, mud halls, bedrooms, linen closets, hallway closets. Trust me, you'll need them all. Pantry is a must, out are the days of having to bring overflow items into the basement, garage or taking up precious cabinet space. Bonus points for walk in pantries that hide larger appliances and offer ample prep space.
3.) Having the Kitchen Sink on an Exterior Wall with a Window Over it
Sinks in the island are not for me. If you have any dirty dishes left out they usually get left on the counter. The sink takes up too much prep space on an island and splashes water all over the island. Having the sink on an exterior wall allows you to have a backsplash behind it and have the disposal button on the wall instead of inside the lower cabinet for easy use. The look with the window over the sink is also very elegant in my opinion.
4.) Shower doors on Tiled Shower or a Shower Unit
Throw away the shower curtains and add in shower doors. This gives a more elevated look even on a shower unit.
5.) Blanco Kitchen Sink over Stainless Steel
Although both look great, Stainless steel scratches and dents way easier than Blanco. I also love the look of matching your counter/design to your sink color as well. I use my kitchen sink daily and want it to uphold and look nice.
