Hanging Art Like a Designer

Do's:

  • Have Art work anchored to something below. Ex.) Console table, furniture, bed. etc.

  • Art work above a dresser, taller console table or couch should be 6"-10" from the top of the piece of furniture to the bottom on the art work

  • Artwork should be about 2/3 width of the furniture

  • Artwork that has multiple frames to it should be spaced 2"-3" apart

  • Hang artwork at eye level 57"-60" from the floor on average

  • Align varying sizes of artwork by their center point not by the top or bottoms

  • A group of art pieces should be thought of as one piece



Dont's:

  • Space your artwork out too much

  • Place artwork too high up off of furniture

  • Choose artwork that is not to scale for the space you will be hanging it
